OLAFUR ELIASSON

Artist

I went to the Olafur Eliasson exhibition In Real Life at the Tate Modern in London during the August bank holiday in 2019. It is up there on my favourite exhibitions.

I had a very interactive experience at this exhibition and it played with many of my sense, The Blind Passenger tunnel and Room for one colour for instance - which I found out the orange light was monochromatic so you could only see shades of black, grey and orange something I only realized on the journey home.

The idea that visitors can get involved with Eliasson's artwork is very special. Your Uncertain Shadow saw groups of people coming together to try and get the perfect shot for their Instagram as well as experimenting with distance and how that impacted what was displayed on the wall.

Eliasson grew up in Denmark and studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His recent work for example Ice Watch is a response to the environmental issues.
