PART 1

Eleanor created a series of woven textiles that have the potential to be used in the Barbara Hepworth Building at the University of Huddersfield. The project investigated ideas around wellness and how we can create an environment through mindful textile pieces. The textiles aimed to provide the staff and students with more private areas for self reflection in a busy, open plan environment.

The project also explored the benefits of fabric being temporary, lightweight, and portable - allowing the consumers to buy more woven pieces to create a modular divider that they would be able to add or take away themselves. This enables the textiles to adapt if and when the need for their space changes too.

The idea is that the pieces are created specifically for each site, in this case, the Barbara Hepworth Building, with the target market being schools, office or large interior environments that wish to quickly improve their acoustics, privacy and worker's wellbeing by providing deligated areas for rest with the woven dividers.
